This is our most classic tour: it offers a unique opportunity to discover the heart of Italy in the best way, that is, on board a motorcycle.

Starting from Rome we will explore the north of Lazio, full of lakes and beautiful places to visit, including a couple of splendid typical villages, and then head to the splendid Umbria (green heart of Italy) and from there to the famous Tuscany.

6 days on a motorbike to discover the most beautiful places in central Italy, with stops in tourist towns rich in art and history, including:

  • the medieval town of Orvieto with its astonishing Duomo
  • the sanctuary city of Assisi, a UNESCO world heritage site and birthplace of Saint Francis, founder of the Franciscan religious order, with its basilica rich in art treasures
  • the city of Siena, a medieval jewel whose historic center is a UNESCO world heritage site 

In addition to the towns and specific places, you will enjoy the beauty of unique landscapes crossing magnificent places such as the Sienese hills, the Chianti and the Val D’Orcia. (the Val D’Orcia which we will cross by motorbike has also been classified as a world heritage site by UNESCO)

Other models may be available in each range. Our motorbikes all have low mileage and can generally be equipped with a trio of trunks and side bags. When booking the tour you should indicate the motorbike you intend to rent; by doing this well in advance we will have no problems getting you the bike you want.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Rome – Briefing & Welcome Dinner.
Arrive at the hotel, meet our guide for a tour briefing, and enjoy a welcome dinner with traditional Roman cuisine.

Day 2: Rome to Umbria – The Three Lakes Tour.
Ride through Lazio’s volcanic lakes, visiting Bracciano and its famous Odescalchi Castle, Sutri’s Etruscan Necropolis, and the stunning Civita di Bagnoregio. End the day by Lake Corbara, entering Umbria via scenic roads.

Day 3: Umbria – Valnerina Valley & Sibillini Mountains.
Explore the hidden gems of Umbria, riding through Spoleto, Norcia, and the scenic Monti Sibillini National Park. Enjoy winding roads through mountains and forests before returning via the Chienti River valley.

Day 4: Umbria to Tuscany – Assisi & Lake Trasimeno.
Visit Assisi, home of St. Francis, then ride along Lake Trasimeno’s scenic shores. Enter Tuscany via Cortona and reach Montepulciano through picturesque roads lined with vineyards and medieval villages.

Day 5: Tuscany – Val d’Orcia UNESCO Heritage Tour.
Discover the breathtaking landscapes of Val d’Orcia, visiting charming villages like Pienza and Montalcino, renowned for its Brunello wine. Stop at the mystical Abbey of San Galgano and the famous sword in the stone.

Day 6: Tuscany – Chianti & Siena Tour.
Explore Siena’s medieval beauty, including Piazza del Campo. Ride through the Chianti region’s rolling hills, passing through picturesque villages like Greve and Radda in Chianti.

Day 7: Tuscany to Rome – Orvieto & Return.
Ride to Orvieto to admire its magnificent Gothic cathedral before heading back to Rome, arriving in the afternoon.

Pricing

  • Base Rate: $5,200 (with a 20% Early Bird discount until January 31, 2025; standard price $6,500).
  • Couples (rider and passenger): $8,600 (with a 20% Early Bird discount until January 31, 2025; standard price $10,750).
  • Accommodation: Double room shared with another rider/passenger.
  • Motorcycle Rental: Standard model included in the base rate.

        Additional Options:

  • Premium Motorcycle: Add $300 for a premium model.
  • Single Room Upgrade: Add $700 for a single room (not shared with another rider).

What's included

  • All hotel stays (7 nights)
  • All breakfasts and dinners (for each of the 7 days of the tour)
  • The rental of the motorbike of the chosen category for all 6 guided days of the tour with basic insurance on the vehicle
  • An expert English speaking guide (minimum 1 guide for every 6 drivers)
  • Support vehicle following the tour 
  • Ferry tickets for the sea route in the tours where they are scheduled (Sardinia and Ischia)
  • Assistance for the entire duration of the tour
 

What is not included

Plane tickets to and from Italy

Any meals, snacks and drinks during the day

Wine and alcoholic drinks at dinner (for those who consume them)

Tips

Gasoline (estimated around $200)

Any motorway tolls

Any extensions of vehicle insurance coverage (whether possibly desired)

Any travel insurance (not mandatory but suggested)

Entrance tickets to museums or monuments

Payment terms

20% deposit at the time of booking

The balance is due within 30 days before the start of the tour

The company is American, so you can easily pay for the entire tour directly in USD

When booking you will have to choose the category of motorbike – premium or standard – that you intend to rent (among other things, the your prices are slightly different for the 2 categories and therefore also the amount of the deposit) and possibly indicate your preference of ‘exact model (so we can make sure to reserve it for you in advance)

Cancellation policy

If you decide to cancel the tour at least 60 days before the start date there are no problems: we will fully refund the deposit paid.

For cancellations from the tour made between 59 and 30 days before the start of the tour, the deposit is retained but can be used as a deposit for a subsequent tour, even the following year

If you cancel the tour after less than 30 days, 50% of the tour amount will be lost

The tours require a minimum number of 6 participants (including pilots and passengers); normally there are no problems and we still try to carry out the tour; in the rare event that a tour is cancelled, the deposit will obviously be refunded.

Always before paying the balance you will receive confirmation of the tour.
