Sardinia

Tour Outline

Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean (after Sicily): it offers breathtaking landscapes, not only for the roads that run along the coast (with beautiful beaches and a sea of incredible colors) but also for the interior, suggestive and wild. It is considered one of the motorcyclists’ paradises (along with the Dolomites) for its roads full of curves and excellent road surfaces. The tour we propose is fascinating and offers priceless driving sensations.

We always leave from Rome and then embark on the island from the port hub of Civitavecchia (about 1 hour from Rome): we will travel at night in comfortable, exclusive 2-bed cabins with internal bathrooms. Traveling at night both on the outward and return journey allows you to optimize travel times; therefore, no day will be lost for transfers to and from Sardinia.

The first of the 6 days of motorbike tours will take place on the “continent” in the beautiful countryside of the Etruscan land and the volcanic lakes of Lazio…at the end of the tour, towards the evening we will head with the motorbikes to the port of Civitavecchia for night boarding. Once we have loaded the motorbikes onto the ship, we will take possession of the cabins: inside the ship, it is possible to have a buffet dinner. The landing in Sardinia is expected early in the morning: we immediately head with the motorbikes along the magnificent Sardinian coast, in a succession of curves and exciting views.

We will travel along the eastern coast of Sardinia and then crossing the interior we will reach the western coast, to head further north.
The tour of Sardinia is usually organized in summer, at the beginning and end of summer, avoiding the periods of greatest tourist overcrowding and heat (traditionally the months of July and August.

This choice is dictated by the fact that Sardinia has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with its crystal clear sea and its thousand shades. It would therefore be a shame not to take advantage of it: at the end of the day after the tour there is still time to enjoy the beach and take a wonderful swim in the sea.

Aside from the sea, during the route we will also visit historical (or even prehistoric) locations, such as the ancient Sardinian Nuraghi, as well as towns that are real pearls, starting with Alghero. We will also enjoy the landscapes of the hinterland, among the wild Gennargentu mountains.

On the evening of the sixth day, we will reach the port to board the return journey.  Traveling again at night in the comfortable cabins we will disembark in Civitavecchia in the early morning of the seventh day, heading to Rome not before having done our last tourist itinerary. We will leave you at the hotel in the afternoon: you will then have another half day to continue visiting Rome, before departure the following day.
